Troubleshooting
Resolve common FanficLab processing, reference upload, character voice, credit, account, and audio preview issues.
Use this page to narrow down a problem before contacting support.
The scene is still processing
Under normal conditions, most scenes finish in under five minutes. Longer inputs and busy queues may take more time.
Keep the task open or check My Creations. Avoid submitting the same scene again while the original task is still processing; duplicate submissions can consume additional credits.
If the task remains unchanged for an unusually long time, save the task details and approximate submission time before contacting support.
Generation failed
Confirm that the fic text is present and no longer than 2,800 characters. Then check the active reference mode:
- Audio mode requires the reference audio expected by the active character rows.
- Image mode requires one valid reference image.
- None mode should not include reference uploads.
If the task still fails, try the same text without optional references. This helps distinguish a scene-text issue from an upload issue.
A reference will not upload
Use a supported file type within the size limit shown by the upload control. Try a smaller file, a stable network, and a simple file name. For voice references, use a clean clip with clear speech and little background noise.
See References and Characters for guidance on preparing reference media.
Characters are difficult to tell apart
Check that each uploaded clip is paired with the correct role name. Use separate, clearly different reference clips and avoid audio dominated by music, multiple speakers, or heavy noise.
If the scene contains more than three speaking characters, shorten the excerpt around the central roles or generate from text alone.
The performance misses the intended beat
Start by changing the smallest useful part of the input:
- tighten the excerpt around one emotional moment;
- preserve punctuation and paragraph breaks that signal pacing;
- remove unrelated setup that competes with the scene's central beat;
- replace a noisy or unclear reference clip.
FanficLab performs the text you provide; it does not rewrite the scene or change the characterization for you.
The preview or result is missing
Refresh the page and check My Creations with the same account used to submit the task. If you used another sign-in method or email address, the creation may belong to that account instead.
Credits or billing look wrong
Check the displayed generation cost, recent creation activity, and your account's credits or billing area. Do not submit another generation solely to test the balance.
Refund eligibility and cancellation rules are described in the Refund Policy.
